Our famous handmade pizza dough needed its own recipe page because this dough is so versatile, quick, easy, and delicious. Not only can you make pizza from scratch at home, but its also great for calzones, breads, rolls, pastries and much more. We’ll be using this recipe in many of our future dishes that require a nice crispy crust.

Learn how to make homemade pizza crust. This recipe is super versatile and can be used in a variety of recipes other then pizza like calzones, breads, pastries, and other baked goods.
Ingredients
- Dough
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbs sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbs shortening
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 1 tbs active dry yeast
- 2tbs vegetable oil
Instructions

- Attach dough hook to standing mixer
- In standing mixer bowl add sugar, salt, yeast, shortening and water in that order. Turn mixer on.
- Add flour. Let dough hook stir mixture until flour starts to come together.
- Drizzle oil on sides of bowl and continue mixing until dough begins to form. Scrape remaining flour off sides of bowl and mix in with hands. Dough should not be sticky.
- Cover bowl with kitchen towel and set in warm dry place to let rise, about 45 minutes
- Remove risen dough from bowl and form ball with hands. Ready to use..
