Follow our marinara sauce recipe for a healthy homemade pasta sauce that costs way less than anything you can buy in the store and is healthier for you too. This recipe calls for only half the sauce you’ll make so refrigerate or freeze the rest. This recipe should take about 30 minutes to make.

Baked rigatoni with homemade marinara and fresh mozzarella in a cast iron skillet.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb rigatoni
- 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce (follow link in text for our easy recipe)
- 1 tbs olive oil
- fresh basil (to garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees
- Boil pasta to package instructions. About 8 minutes.
- Drain water from pasta and add olive oil, so noodles don’t stick together in the pot you just boiled the pasta in. Mix around so noodles are coated.
- Add marinara sauce to the pot and continue mixing so sauce coats entire pasta.
- Add pasta to the skillet. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until cheese is golden brown (varies from oven to oven).
- Serve hot
